City of Wilmington Residents:
The city wide spring clean up is May 14, 2015. All items must be placed curbside by 6:00 a.m. for Waste Management pickup.
Items to be picked up include: couches, chairs, tables, mattress, white goods (i.e. ranges, washers, dryers, appliances with Freon, water heaters), automobile tires (limit of 4 - no rims), carpet and padding (all carpet & padding must be cut into 4-foot lengths, rolled and secured with tape or sting not to exceed 50 lbs).
No pick-up for building materials, fencing, large car parts, engine oil, and yard waste. To make special arrangements for pick up of these items call Waste Management directly at 1-800-796-9696.
As of January 1, 2012, the following electronic devices have been banned from landfills: televisions, computers, printers, electronic keyboards, facsimile machines, videocassette recorders, portable digital music players, digital video disk players and video game consoles, small scale servers, scanners, electronic mice, digital converter boxes, cable television receivers, satellite receivers, and digital video disc recorders. Will County offers free disposal for these items at various drop locations throughout the County. A list of these sites with hours of operation can be found atwww.willcountygreen.com. Anyone hauling items into the City will be considered dumping and will be fined.
