The
City of Wilmington is opening the ESDA building located 103 N. Main St.,
as a warming center on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. until
Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. because of the extreme cold
weather.

directed to ESDA at 815-476-2334 or Police Department non-emergency at
815-476-2811.
When the forecast calls for below normal temperatures
and extremely cold wind chill factors, the City of Wilmington would
like to remind residents to take every precaution to ensure their health
and safety. Especially at risk are the elderly, infants and young
children, people with disabilities and persons taking medication for
chronic health conditions. Residents who have at risk friends, neighbors
or relatives should help by checking on them periodically.
